Who's Who

The cast of the eighth installment of Ultima makes a disappointingly short list. But the characters do have much of the diversity and actions seen in the last installments. It's extremely important in this game getting the right character to say the right thing because many more game flags are set based off having heard the information that you need, more so even than in the past.

Amoras (Zealan Temple [0.0.*.0]); Zealan Deity of Emotion, Passion

Apathas (Zealan Temple [0.0.*.0]); Zealan Deity of Balance, Control

Aramina (East Tenebrae, home or Castle); maid-servant of Mordea the Tempest; She will only talk openly at home and she's only there during the hour of Bloodwatch (as she will tell you if you try to talk to her at work). She's helpful with the necromancer's problem.

Arcadion (Sorcerer's Test Entrance [0.0.*.0]); Daemon in the Service of the Sorcerers

Bane (Daemon's Crag, Bane's Home [0.0.*.0]); Sorcerer Acolyte infighting with Vardion

Bentic (East Tenebrae, library [14118.3179.*.41]); Librarian; Very informative and oft overly talkative, but he knows a man who may be able to help win the way home. Is also good friends with Devon.

  1. "Devon has potential?" or "I thought this place was 'Tenebrae'."
  2. "Does he know how I may leave Pagan." or "I wish to leave Pagan."
  3. "Who is Mythran?"
  4. "Where is the Plateau?"

Beren (East Tenebrae, Beren's home [20218.6775.*.41] and later-Daemon's Crag, Beren's home [..*.]) Patron Sorcerer of Tenebrae; you can get on his bad side if you insult the Guardian. He will also do ugly things to you if you cause mayhem in Tenebrae limits.

Corinth ([0.0.*.0])

Cyrus ([0.0.*.0])

Darion (East Tenebrae, home [14104.14928.*.41] or Spring of Hydros [..*.41]) will train when at home. Has a hand in the Ghostly Armour Quest. Is also trying to marry off his daughter, Jenna.

Devon (West Tenebrae or fisherman's village outside and south of west gate {maybe, he wanders}, Tavern [16970.12590.*.39]) Often helpful when stuck, that is, if you can find him. Note: Darion and Devon are two different characters, they and their roles have been mixed in several posts I've seen.

Gorgrond ([0.0.*.0])

Gwillim ([0.0.*.0])

Hydros ([0.0.*.0])

Jenna (West Tenebrae, Tavern) can be upset easily (don't come on to her, don't insult her sword and don't comment on her age), she comments on Orlok's stories which initiates the Ghostly Armour Quest

Kilandra (fisherman's village) has opinions on the current tyrant, Mordea. She talks to fish and her dead daughter, also a hook in the Ghostly Armour Quest.

Korick (Smithy [12882.16174.*.39] or wandering) will sell arms and armours though its not necessary to buy from him. Also crafts theurgistic foci for free given a nodule of silver ore. Some interesting conversation otherwise.

Lithos ([0.0.*.0])

Lothian ([0.0.*.0])

Malchir ([0.0.*.0])

Mentar ([0.0.*.0])

Mordea ([0.0.*.0])

Mythran ([0.0.*.0])

Odion ([0.0.*.0])

Orlok (West Tenebrae, Tavern) knows some of his own unique brand of history. Tells some good stories, including the Ghostly Armour Quest genesis. When you get the spell you might want to try casting the theurgistic "Hear Truth" before listening to some of his stories, reality is oft stranger than fiction, no?

Pellgun ([0.0.*.0])

Pyros ([0.0.*.0])

Rhian (East Tenebrae, home [..*.41] or Spring of Hydros) wife of the executed Toran, mother of the headstrong theurgist, Torwin. She'll buy any valuable gems you find in your travels, well, its some honest money.

Salkind (Castle or East Tenebrae, home [..*.41]) snotty, self-important, puffed up. Not useful in conversation yet if you didn't already know, he knows about some small info you don't concerning criminals.

Shaana (West Tenebrae, home [17998.16690.*.39] or Mythran's Void Dwelling) not much for information she may at least tell you of Mythran. She has some intangible yet strong bond to the thaumaturgist.

Stellos ([0.0.*.0])

Stratos ([0.0.*.0])

Toran; "Insurrectionist" executed at the opening of the game; husband of Rhian, father of Torwin.

Torwin ([0.0.*.0])

Vardion ([0.0.*.0])

Vividos ([0.0.*.0])

Xavier ([0.0.*.0])
