It seems that my host’s WordPress implementation is only allowed to be aware of one item at a time. After cloning all the information out of the previous blog, I deleted the site files and replaced the hosting local with a new installation. Voila! The root site is now WordPress running my handcrafted mash-up theme based on the original which I could never get to accept changes I wanted and the root I had started crafting as a landing page that was always meant to be replaced.
Now, if I can keep up submissions and build this place while “bringing it up to code,” that will truly be a marvel!
I have to place some of my crafted content into the alternate post categories I created for the site. I will change the way each type is handled in code. This was part of the reason for separating them at the start. Once that is done, this site will be a more finished-looking and full display. I will also continue building capabilities into it for subscription and notification services. That is my plan, in any event.
I have a few dozen projects to focus on. One that needs breakdown and plotting is my many Lego-based projects. I have several sets. Many are art or display pieces. A few others are Great Ball Contraptions based on many other people’s designs. Because it has taken over my home space with its sheer volume, I will focus on it more than others.
Then there are particulars of life. Inflation is changing many things. Though I don’t have kids or a wife, I still think of the effects of things I have control over versus those I do not so whatever I am doing for life, entertainment, or content will also be affected to no small degree.
Onto some furniture moving, project sorting, Lego handling tasks… until next time!
