Place Map Data Type
The towne and castle map file (TCD.BIN
) is a fixed length file
6,840 bytes long. The map tile data is stored top to bottom, left to right, on
a byte data boundary (8-bits per tile). This does mean that the data is on a
right angle to its screen representation. Dimensions of each map are 38 tiles wide, west to east, and
18 tiles
high, north to south. There are ten maps. The first two are castle one and
castle two. They are followed by the towne maps one through eight.
