The Conservatory

Pleasing melodies and dramatic movements were created by Kenneth Arnold for this adventure. In this scribe's opinion, they include some of the best and most lasting pieces in the history of the series.

My appreciation goes to Minstrel Dragon (Home Page) for his work on these. Here is a local mirror of the following MIDIs in a single zip file.

01 - Ultima Theme 02 - Britannic Lands 03 - Cap'n Johne's Hornpipe 04 - Engagement and Melee 05 - Stones
06 - Greyson's Tale 07 - Fanfare for the Virtues 08 - The Missing Monarch 09 - Villager Tarantella 10 - Halls of Doom
11 - Worlds Below 12 - Lord Blackthorn 13 - Dream of Lady Nan 14 - Joyous Reunion 15 - Rule Britannia
ULTIMA V - Warriors of Destiny

MIDI files (C) 1996 by Markus Brenner (Minstrel Dragon) -==(UDIC)==-

This archive originally consists of 15 .mid files, the soundtrack
listing sndtrack.txt and this readme file. You can get the original
archive at:

    http://www.biochem.mpg.de/~brenner/binary/u5-midi.zip

This is the original score of the Apple ][ Ultima V soundtrack.
I tried to keep the right tempo and key of the individual songs,
as well as the general mood when picking the midi instruments.

I used a Roland SCB-7 General MIDI Sound Canvas (Daughter Board)
so the music is optimized for this device. I used panpot effect,
Hold1, Effect 1 (Reverb depth) and Effect3 (Chorus depth).
If you use this files on another card please tell me if they
sound OK.
